Playing Tips

A long par 5 that brings you back to the clubhouse for the first time. Sharing the same fairway as the 6th hole. The ideal starting line is 10 metres right of the bunker situated in the middle of the 13th fairway. This will open the angle to the green and allow you to see a lot more when hitting your second shot. There are several bunkers up the right-hand side of this fairway that are reachable in two. The green holds one awkward bunker directly at the front middle of the green which can make it testing to decide which side to hit from. The right hand side of the green clutches another severe run off slope which, if caught on the wrong side of, will make it challenging to secure an up and down.

Pro’s Tip: The longest playing hole on the course even though the par 5 15th hole is ever so slightly longer. The 15th hole is relentlessly downhill for half of the hole so it does not play as long. When playing the 13th, and particularly into the wind, it is important to remember you are playing the longest hole. Accept it will take 3 or 4 shots to get to the green. You would rather be 150m from the green on the fairway than 100m away from the heavy rough or bunker.
