The introduction to “OMG Corner”. The stunning 10th hole is certainly in the discussion for the best and most scenic hole on the course, it just has that wow factor. It is the start of what some call the “OMG Corner” because as soon as you come over the hill that leads down to the fairway on this hole, everybody’s reaction is “Oh My God!”.

A par 4 straight downhill with a bowl-shaped fairway and hitting into a two-tier green. Get your tee shot between the two mounds either side of the fairway in the distance, that look like they merge into the fairway. Anything inside those mounds will funnel down and work its way into the centre of the bowl-shaped fairway. Depending on the wind, this will hopefully leave you a chip or short pitch to the green. Take in the dramatic green complex and breath-taking panoramic views of the ocean just behind the green.

Pro’s Tip: The key to getting close to any hole location on this green is to use the green complex and the ground contours to your advantage. If the hole location is on the lower tier, using the mound that separates the two tiers will assist in the ball rolling towards the flag. The most fun pin position, and certainly the most photographed, is when the hole is cut on the top tier. Again, the contours can help you because at the rear of the green is a backstop which can be used to feed an aerial approach shot back down the hill towards the flag. You can also use the ground, and bounce your approach shot around the right hand bunker. Before you play your shot, picture how the ball will react to the contours on the green. Be imaginative, be creative, be inventive.
