The opening tee shot at Cape Wickham Golf Links is nothing short of spectacular. Staring right at Bass Strait and enjoying staggering views of the towering Cape Wickham Lighthouse and Victoria Cove beach, the opening and closing holes at our world class venue are something you will never forget.
From the Blue tees, your opening tee shot needs to travel around 150 metres to reach the widest part of the fairway. The approach shot then needs to be precise with the two-tier green being protected by two bunkers on the left and another at the back right. You want to avoid the mound behind the green as it is covered in long grass.

Pro’s Tip: With the wind at your back, please take one club less when hitting your approach shot and land the ball around ten metres short to allow it to run onto the green and up towards the flag. The linksy, fescue playing surfaces at Cape Wickham can be firm and difficult to hold so using lower shots and ground contours will assist you in getting the ball closer to the flag more consistently.
